Some of the post world war literatures were awarded noble prizes like Gunter Grass, who was the eighth author from Germany. Die Blechtronmel (The Tin Drum) and Die Rattin (The Rat) were the best literatrures of him at that time and the best sellers. The novels Im Krebsgang and Mein Jahrhundert are collections of small stories by him. Hans Magnus Enzensberger is a famous writer and philosopher who write socio-critical novels.
Christa Wolf is a well known critical novelist of East Germany who established the concept of “subjectivity and authenticity".
After Hitler's National Socialist Regime, various Wassily Kandinsky, Oskar Kokoschka, Max Beckmann and Emil Nolde and many Expressionists were the outstanding models of the newly evolving art scene.
